I have a situation whereby my motherboard on my laptop died. I now have a new laptop and have installed the disk and got it working apart from the XP vm
I get this error
windows XP Mode 1 could not be restored because of either host processor type mismatch or lack of hardware-assisted virtualisation support in the system
Is it possible to rebuild this xp machine as it has some software on it that I need access to
regards
Alan

You need to go into bios and enable virtualisation extensions for your CPU. It should work fine after that. If the extensions are already enabled, you might need to turn them off, go into Windows, then shut it down cleanly and enable them again.
The extentions may be hidden behind a stupid name. It will pretty much always begin with a V though, which helps.
