Don't upgrade if you have an iPhone 4S or lower. Looks like I'll have to wait until next year to buy an iphone 6.

If you have lower than a 4S you can't upgrade to iOS 8 lol.

I know plenty of people who have upgraded their 4S to 8 and had no problems.

My boss has been running it for over a week. His assessment of the Dev. release? Buggy.

Which release does he have? I've had it since the first beta and it was very buggy as usual but the GM has been fine since I got it over a week ago.

Now available as an update i.e. it's 'live'. I thought they said the 19th?

Here's something interesting regarding iOS 8 ... Apple can't turn over iOS8 data if it's held on the device only to the US authorities, even if a warrant is presented for that data.

That is only for iPhone 5S or 6. And it was introduced with iOS 7.

There have been many reports that iOS 8 runs like a dog on the 4S, iPad 2 and 1st gen iPad mini (which all share basically the same internal components) however I've installed it on my ipad mini and it seems fine.

Business users or people with company documents or email accounts in their devices should not use Handover functionality, they could possibly put themselves and their company is hot water with data protection laws, as it passes the data over the iCloud and not over the company servers.

If you want to use it in business, you should check with your data protection officer or IT department first.
