Gah! I don't use an iPhone, but my boss is having problems. He has Photostream on his iPhone 5S running 8.1 (delivered with 7, upgrade to 8). On his iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Air 2 running 8.1 there is no photostream. All 3 devices are configured identically, so why is Photostream appearing on one and not the others? I've just checked with another colleague, he has 8.1 on an iPhone 5S and he has Photostream as well. So where the blathering hell is it on the iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Air 2? Answer: So, not 100% identical. On the iPhone 6 Plus the new iCloud Photo Library (Beta) was also turned on, which seems to have overridden the Photostream option. |

Slightly related, but our AppleTV at work seems to have updated the system today and broken iCloud Photostream afterwards. We had it set to use iCloud Photostream as the screensaver and I added some photos to the Photostream this morning ready for a presentation tomorrow. All worked fine this morning - turned the TV on this afternoon to show the boss the photos and the system must have updated itself (the UI looks different now so assume that's what happened) and the screensaver has reverted to National Geographic photos. Try to sign in to iCloud and I get a revised Terms & Conditions screen to agree to, click agree and it says it's loading then goes back to the T's & C's screen again. Tried logging out and back in but can't get past this T's & C's screen, just going round in a circle! Also tried a restore but just the same. That's going to mess up tomorrow's presentation then, thanks a lot Apple! "It just works" my @rse! |

Well, as I've already highjacked this thread, here's a quick update! Last time when I did a Restore on the AppleTV, I did the top option to just remove all users and data. This time I did a full Restore which wipes the AppleTV and downloads a fresh system from Apple's servers, taking around 20 minutes. Restarted the AppleTV, it was still the same! Just in a continuous loop of clicking 'Accept' on the iCloud Terms & Conditions screen, then it just comes back to the same screen. Bugger it! That was when I found the following on Apple's forums... https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6614791 It seems that after Apple's recent update, it resets the region back to 'US' so any iCloud accounts registered in other countries will not accept these Terms & Conditions!! I mean, WFT Apple? It's bad enough on iOS updates when they keep enabling Bluetooth, but to change the region without telling you is just sloppy coding. I've now changed the region back to 'United Kingdom', as it was before this update was forced on me, and I can now sign-in to iCloud and accept the T's & C's screen. Hooray! Just adding this so anyone else searching for this problem knows what's caused it. I'm getting to the point of not trusting any of Apple's updates anymore. Auto-update is now switched off on all devices! |
