Part of the screen on my iPhone has stopped responding to touch.

This is whilst using any parts of the OS or any Apps I have installed :(

It is the line that comprises the second row down of apps when on the home screen or the buttons 1, 2 and 3 when trying to dial a number.

Consequently I'm back using my SE C905.

It's a first gen iPhone and it's been Jailbroken. Anything I can do with it? If I put normal iPhone OS back on will it still be under warranty?

TVM :(

I heard from someone in "the industry" that this sort of thing happens to all touch phones eventually, which is why he won't get one.

That's a good point. I suppose if I had purchased it I would probably have upgraded by now but as I got it for free from my Dad and it's nearly 3 years old and a bit battered then it's inevitable.

I checked the warranty and it has run out so no repair for me :(

I'll have to wait until next year's iPhone comes out and I'll buy it on PAYG. :D

You could put it on eBay as broken? I'm sure someone will still pay a reasonable amount for it.

Why don't you just repair it yourself? You can buy spares quite easily, not sure on costs but there are plenty of DIY tutorials out there.

I'm going to assume that you've tried turning it off and on again?

Not much help, I know... sorry, I couldn't resist ;)

Are you absolutely sure it's plugged in? :D
