I'm with EE. Had a look and some of the iPhone 6s deals are ridiculously expensive.

EG iPhone 6s 64gb is £55pcm for 24 mths plus £90 = £1390. 10gb data.
Buy same phone from apple for £620. Ee sim only 10 gb for £26 over 24 mths is £624. Total £1244.

Back when I bought the 4S on a pay monthly deal, I was paying £36pcm.

Tempted to buy the phone outright and then go for a cheaper sim only price plan. The main concern is how much data I will use. Currently it's well under the 2GB limit.

I have a Three £18 a month sim only contract with unlimited data.

I bought my iPhone 6+ on finance for 6 months at 0%.

Works out much much cheaper.

It's a simple business calculation really, for the company, the money up front is preferable to the money over time, so if you want to pay over time you are going to pay more to offset the risks it presents to the company.

We've been buying the phones outright for the last few years.

If we would buy an iPhone 6S (or Galaxy S6) over T-Mobile, we would save about 150€ over 2 years over the standard price + contract without a phone, but that contract is still twice what we are paying for Congstar.

On the other hand, we don't buy iPhones either way. The girls all went for Microsoft Lumia 630s (swapping from iPhone 3GS, Sony Xperia and a Lumia 700 WP7 phone). I bought the 630 for my wife and the girls played with it and went out and bought their own ones.
