My friend wants to get a large screen tablet for her young son so she doesn't have to share her iPad any more. It seems the Amazon fire starts around £50 otherwise you're paying over £100. She'll need to be able to do child restrictions but she's not interested in the Vtech Innotabs as they don't have access to YouTube and he's a big Youtube addict (he's 2 fgs lol) Any suggestions? I only have experience of the iPad, Amazon Fire HD and a brief look at the poor Blackberry playbook offering a few years ago. If they are under £100 that's a bonus. Thanks |

My little sister has a kindle fire thing and loves it. She's 10 and uses it for iplayer, minecraft, you tube and things like that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

How old / small is the child? Amazon Fire is now available in a "Kidz" model, with big bumper edges for extra protection. |

Certainly nothing from VTech. ![]() FWIW, the iPads at my wife's primary school seem to be surviving. More robust that you think, so you may not need to look for a specific child friendly device. |

Mightydeals and Game.co.uk have sales on for refurb iPads of every description. Or there's the Hudl from Tesco. |

I bought my kids a Kindle Fire Kids for Xmas when it was on offer for £79. It includes a 2 year no quibble replacement and is kid safe out of the box. Alternatively if you have a standard Android tablet then the Famigo app is a pretty good way of restricting it. |
