my laptop has decided to use grub instead of the xp bootloader. but grub doesnt do anything because i uninstalled ubuntu. i used the wubi one off the cd.

so now im left with a non-booting laptop, and im at the caravan so i cant get a windows xp cd.

is there any way to make windows boot again? thanks :)

Boot off the windows CD and do a repair I would suggest.

I'm sure one of the others will give you exact details but I think its repair MBR. :?

This laptop is supernatural. It's suddenly fixed itself! :D

Now to figure out how to remove the linux bootloader entry from the boot.ini. MSCONFIG won't let me remove it, but IMO after that scare its better to be safe than sorry. :D

Cheers anyway Alun.

I believe you are referring to fixmbr

Apparently this can be done without a Windows CD :s
