https://www.teslamotors.com/model3Arguably the first electric car that isn't a massive compromise compared to a petrol/diesel car. Genuinely think this is a bit of a watershed moment.

Completely agree. They've had over 250,000 orders for it so far. (That's as of this morning).
It will force a big change in the infrastructure of car energy supply. At the moment there's only a handful of supercharging stations in the uk. Wouldn't surprise me if all the major motorway services had them in a couple years. (At least)

I hope it takes off and I'll be interested to see what the price ends up at, here in Europe.
We have a Supercharging Station in Lohne just up the road, and according to somebody who lives near-by, the garage where it is installed says that they have an average of 2 Teslas charging from it every day.
We also have a fair few Nissan Leaf and Renault Zoe models around here, and a Twizzy. In Osnabrück there are several of those Citroen/Mitsubishi miniature cars.

The charging infrastructure is the major remaining issue I think. The nearest supercharger to me is roughly the range of the model 3 away....
Obviously you don't need to use a supercharger and there are non-Tesla charging points within reasonable range of most urban places in the UK but the ability to charge to a reasonable percentage in a very short period (say a couple of minutes) is the real game changer.

One of our share holders has a plug-in hybrid Golf, so there is no a charging station at the office...
