ZDNet.com wasn't as friendly, Jason Perlow was going on about its lack of hypervisor and not being able to virtualise OS X Server on HP and Dell blade servers... :?

That could be an interesting market for Apple, creating virtual hardware for OS X to run on other platforms. Various restrictions would probably apply...

Well exactly, why on earth would they want to dent sales of their servers by making it run on a competitor's hardware?

Some people just want to run OS X, without having to fork out for expensive kit... :?

Then they're missing the point. Apple is primarily a hardware company, so would rather you buy their hardware and run the complimentary OS on it.

Now there is a huh-hah about Flash being out of date - not a surprise, considering Adobe patched it on 10.5 after 10.6 was released to manufacturing... The real question is how they deal with getting a patch out...

I don't suppose anyone has tried to use the Optional Installs part of the disc to remove un-needed components?

I didn't install X11, Rosetta or XCode. I also went through the options in the install and unchecked all languages except German and English. I think I saved around 19GB in the end.

I'm debating whether I need to bother with X11 or not. Depends if uni fix how they tunnel X over SSH, I guess.

I installed the languages but I don't need them (and the printer drivers as well). Rosetta installed itself for my Canon DPP software.
There is always monolingual to remove them.
