Just done some housekeeping on my website. Deleted a load of folders I didn't need and moved my site into another folder to upload a new homepage. Now when I try and load my site I get the above error. I can't think it's anything I've done, but it seems too much of a coincidence that their servers have gone screwy at precisely the time I've been moving stuff about.

It's with fasthosts, does anyone with any knowledge of them know if there is anything I might have deleted that's essential to their running?

First thing I'd do is move your 'site back to where it was pre-error message and see if it persists.
That way you can rule your own meddling … oops I mean housekeeping, out of the equation.

Might just try that. Noticing my avatar isn't showing as well.

It's not helped by the fact that it's hosted by someone I used to work with on a reseller account, so I have to deal with him and can't go through fasthosts and he's not around.

Must have been a coincidence, all hunky dory now.
