I'm looking to replace my trusty but 5yr old Akasa Eclipse 62 case and have considered the Corsair Obsidian http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Corsair- ... ns-w-o-PSUDoes anyone have this case which they can give their opinion on it? If I ditched my existing case any ideas what its worth?

I like the look and finish of the obsidian case but, considering you can have a TJ07S for less, I'd have a hard time justifying it. Are you putting WC in the case?

Nope no W/C unit. Looked closer and the Corsair only has 4 HDD bays - possible 3 extra by PSU at a squeeze so probably rules it out Back to drawing board.

A couple of nice Lian Li boxes in this thread.

I'm just in the process of building in the Silverstone Fortress and it's pretty damned good so far.
What are you looking for in the case?

Well case has to be:-
1) Roomy - my Akasa is easy to work with as big. 2) Plenty of HDD bays - already have 4 hard drives and sometimes have hard drives to "wipe" from old works PC's 3) A case with front e-Sata port 4) Not keen on LED fans - think they look naff 5) Light - so probably aluminium 6) HDD slots must have sound dampening - a big failing of the Eclipse is that the HDD cages have no rubber mounts.
The Fortress does look a nice case but a tad cramped re. graphics card - I have a GTX 285 (soon to be replaced by Radeon 5870) and it looks a bit tight for 1 of those to fit - also no front eSata port.
The Lian Li P80B (Armoursuit) looks very nice - has front eSata port, enough space for 6 hard drives, fully aluminium and can have wheels fitted - only downer appears to be the blue LED fans and the price tag! Even looks like my PSU would fit ok (Corsair HX 1000W) - a bit long.

Yes Jon that does. Also looking at this Coolermaster http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Coolerma ... ck-w-o-PSUCoolermaster does not have wheels so would have to modify it to fit some.
