Post subject: | Third-party Router with BT |
Hello everyone, I'm looking to get a third-party router to use with BT broadband. The history here is that the BT supplied router keeps randomly restarting, and this happens when I'm working, so it's not good. It's a known issue with BT supplied routers, apparently. So I'm looking for a not-too-expensive replacement. I have my own wireless hub that plugs into the BT one, so wireless capability on the replacement isn't a requirement. Apparently it needs to be a VDSL modem/router, and not just a router. Does anyone here have their own router on BT setup? Mark |

Hiya man, I'm using an Apple Airport Extreme for my wireless, so as long as there's an ethernet port on the router that the Airport basestation can plug into, I should be good. Mark |

Update … I ended up getting one of these and it's done the job just perfectly. I don't know why BT insists in having the HomeHub restart automatically, without a user preference to turn that off, but for me it's no longer an issue (and I still have the HomeHub if this router ever goes down). Mark |
