A friend asked me to look at building him a computer

I found two AM3 boards but from reading the reviews every one seams to have miss prints etc and it getting confusing and there issues with both makes but I am not sure how current they are?

I need some feed back on these - please or any other suggestion - from experience you never go for a cheap or cheaper MB you always regret it later

Asus Crosshair III Formula AMD 790FX (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard - http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prod ... rmula.html

Gigabyte MA790FXT-UD5P AMD 790FX (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard - http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prod ... -UD5P.html

The bits that he already got is a 250 1GB nvidea and a 900 case

also what RAM and PSU rating would you go for? - I was thinking of going for OCZ ModXStream Pro 700w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Modular Power Supply - it the same price as the 600w!!! - http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prod ... SP-UK.html

it looks very good - it a shame that only has a 2 year Warranty - but you can not have everything

Mind you if your building on a bit more of a budget then the MSI 770-C45 AMD 770 @ £50 is a bargain

If that’s to cheap then the MSI 790GX-G65 790GX @ £97 is the next step

Also I've Found the MSI 790FX-GD70 @£130

I would appear MSI have got their motherboards working well on SKT AM3

The reason behind the AM3 is that they now faster than the C2D CPU and they are cheaper than the i7

the MSI 790FX-GD70 AMD 790FX looks fantasic

it looks like I be building one for my self and then selling it onto my friend

but he might never get round to buy it off me  - so I get to keep it
