Hey all...

Christmas is on its way and plans are needed as of what to get...
I will be getting around £200-£400 cash and I am looking to buy a new power supply and graphics card...

I'm looking for a 400W minimum PSU and a decent GPU.

Thanks in advance,
Josh.

Well i think the corsair H stuff is good although rather expensive, best place is ebay... (PSU)

I think that with santa on his way i shall be investing in a corsair psu this 1 below :)

Image

Its the 450W version looks good and its modular :P Its about £60 off ebay inc postage and packaging

GPU i would personally go for HD4870 1GB version, it plays anything you throw at it at good resolution:)

Cost about £120 off ebay inc P&P

Save the extra like £100 and buy me something nice  or you could buy motherboard CPU bundle to replace ur Pentium D with a E8500 (core 2 Duo)

Hope this helped :)

*Dont ever go Chineese on PSU's josh huh :)*

I've got a Corsair (I think its a HX650, cant actually remember lol, its the red one!) and it has been rock solid. Best PSU I've ever had. I'm running an overclocked Q6600 and GTX275 fine.

At the upper end of your budget you could get something like the Corsair TX650W and GTX285

If you shave some money of the PSU you might squeeze a new ATi 5870?

Or further down the budget there's the GTX275. Just get the cheaper one (Asus e.g.) and overclock it using Rivatuner to the same as the more expensive BFG version.

There's always the 5850 due out soon too but I havent seen any reviews.

Full upgrade FTW!! At the upper end of that £400 pile of cash just a quick look around shows you could get...

Intel E5300 £49.98
OCZ StealthXstream 600w £54.99
4GB Patriot Viper DDR2-1066 £49.99
MSi P43 Neo £51.80
ATi HD4890 1GB £149.99

It comes to £356.75 with some pennies left over for a better HSF to overclock the E5300

lol infact he aught to go to pc world where they would tell him a pentium 4 single core with a geforce 3 would run crysis at 1280x1024 . To be quite honest i can't stand thes guys a pc world.

There just there to spin off there overpriced crap to customers who are clueless in what to buy. Thoes Core 2 duo Dell inspiron laptops are £600 for cryin out loud

I bet for £600 i could get a core i7 920 with an asus rampage 6gig of ram and a corsair 700W PSU!!!!
