I'd rather not be asking this, but is there any way of keeping all the mail stored in Outlook Express and importing it to Outlook 2007?

Open Outlook 2007, it'll detect outlook express and import it all for you

Sorry, should've said. Office is on the new machine. Outlook Express is on the old machine. I could install Outlook on the old machine I suppose, than copy the .pst across? But I don't have a spare copy of Office sitting around here. Any other ideas?

Invalidating my shiny new 3yr NBD Dell warranty though It's cool. I didn't think it could be done, just thought maybe somebody knew better than me (that happens quite a lot around here)!

Put the drive in a caddy? Use the export mail feature of OE?

well you could use an IDE / USB connector so won't have to touch the case. http://www.ebuyer.com/product/130517

I'm pretty sure you can do it by running the import wizard and pointing it at the folder with the OE mail files in. Unfortunately I upgraded to Mail ages ago, so it would be a pain to try and test it. I've never had trouble keeping my email though, there's always been a fairly easy way. Worst case, if the new machine has OE on it still then copy the old mail into that before importing into Office.

If you have a memory stick large enough could copy needed files to that and paste them on the other machine. Or use OE to import from memory stick.

Outlook Express has all the mail stored in a folder.
Get both computers on the same network and import into Outlook and point at the folder on the other computer.
No messing around with HDDs or anything.

That sounds delightfully simple. I'll try to have a go at that and report back. Thanks everybody.
