When I installed a RAID array (Mirror) in my XP based PC I had to install the RAID drivers as part of the installation process.
Given that I don’t have a Floppy Drive I finally integrated them within an “nlite” image of my XP CD

Does anyone know how RAID drivers etc are handled in Win7 – were they integrated in VISTA (in which case you would hope that they would be integrated in Win7

The Mobo I have is a Gigabyte with an Nforce 4 chipset

Win 7 comes with raid support built in as did Vista so you should not need to any drivers.

On Vista and Win 7 I had to supply the SATA drivers for my motherboard (old ASUS A8R32-MVP Deluxe) as no drives were showing up. I used a USB stick and loaded the drivers from there.

Cheers all

SATA is covered by the Mobo directly although while looking the other day I noticed the BIOS is an older one and might flash it up – however there is also the old “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” mantra

I plan to get new HDD when I install Win 7 ( I have 2 x 400) at the mo and might go to 1Tb and then use the 400’s as backup drives
