1. Upgrade to IE 8
2. Upgrade to Firefox
3. Put a bomb under the computer with IE6 running.

Booooooo!

IE6

Booooooooooooooooo!

Don't sort the bugs - write code that exposes them. Give people reasons to upgrade.

IE6 - Booooooooo!

A great way to get sacked - stopping 20% ( current figures ) of usage of a site .

And also lose any chance of lucrative government contracts.

Maybe in another 10 years we might be safe

Not everyone has a choice over the browser they use (at work).
If that's what the IT department has standardised on and haven't got round to the next version then that's what you're stuck with.

Similar at the Research Bunker. A mix of IE 6 and IE 7 and variable implementations of Flash and Adobe Reader.
If you moan at the IT department, more often than not, they'll upgrade your software to a more current version. Why they don't just roll out these updates across the board eludes me. I would have thought it would simplify the support aspect of their job to deal with a reduced set of software variables.
Then again, I suspect it's the good old if it 'ain't broke, don't fix it mentality.
I suspect this explains why I don't work in IT support.
