I don't have a connection between my phone and my PC so I can't upload it but I've just made a video showing a quick hack I put together in an attempt to improve my wifi connection on my PC.

I cut the side off a cereal pack and stuck a load of kitchen foil (shiny side out) to it. I then rolled it into a cylinder with the foil on the inside and fixed it with tape.

I had an active download on bittorrent going at around 20KB/s. I put the cylinder over the antenna and pointed it at my router and BAM 900KB/s up to max of 1.2MB/s!

Took it off and instantly back down to 30KB/s!

I seriously can't believe it!

At least it shows that I just need to buy an extension for the antenna.

People have used pringles tubes also :)

I have seen the less they have to go through the better in terms of connection strength but a good antenna can make a difference also

C'est incroyable!!

I don't trust a lack of cables myself and I'm all gigabitted up, but will be mentioning this to less fortunate friends. Nice one Oli.

wow, thats quite some performance gain for what is in essence a home-made satellite dish (reflects the signal toward the antennae, boosting signal)

good job :)
