As long as it doesn't come anywhere near my computer I'll be happy. This is the worst thing that anyone could ever do to a computer of any description. I'd rather pay twice the amount and have no ads. |

Darn, and I was about to buy a 27" iMac  It would stop me upgrading to a new version, unless there was an ad-free version. Adverts just don't work. They are annoying and distracting and make me want to buy a product less, not more. |

The same applies to me. If you are spending a fortune on a new machine the very last thing you want is an ad driven OS. I will tolerate emails notifying me of new products and offers but not through everything I do. |

Ain't. Gonna. Happen. Really. Think about the control Apple like to have over their OS. I honestly can't see them letting 'partybingo.com' or 'dell.com' showing ads via their OS. This is, I think, one of the silly season patents that get filed, with no intention of it seeing the light of day. |

Well, if they did this, I'd be reaching straight for a linux or FreeBSD disc, but it would be foolhardy for Apple to introduce it at this point in time. It is not as if a full version of OSX is expensive, at least not compared to Vista and SP3. Maybe they are trying to get a patent in there before Google or MS get the chance with the sole purpose of parking the idea. We can hope. |

That would make much more sense. People are actually willing to pay for OSX each time, that will evaporate with an ad sponsored version of the OS. |
