Dear All,

I am having some fun with typing ATM

When I start typing the writing going from right to left instead of left to right

I had this problem a few years ago when working on the ICT help desk with a student that had copied a table from the web and because it was so long ago I can not remember how we fix it.

I checked and reset in the control panel that it an UK English keyboard but that's not helped

When using Firefox last night I press a key and web pages went to full screen and to get the web pages to display correctly again I just pressed F keys until the web menu etc was displayed again

I am using vista 64 bit

Any help would be welcomed

Mark

Can't remember where exactly, but is it something to do with the regional settings (nothting to do with keyboard), where text is marked as right to left?

Definitely sounds like you've set it up for right-to-left language handling. You might try removing support for Egyptian this way:

1. Click the Start->All Programs->Microsoft Office Tools->Microsoft Office Language Settings menu item.
2. Select and Remove Egyptian from the list.
3. Click OK.

Hope that helps. If it doesn't, there may be something in the Word Help system for "right to left" that will fix the problem.

Thank for every one help

it gets a bit stranger

when hunting and testing etc

in word 2007 it was typing the correct way round so I had a go with Firefox again - that when I first noticed the problem

and it just would not type at all - could not click the curse in the search box

I then press the enter key to search for nothing or anything then restarted Firefox and everything working fine!!!!!!

I have another look and root round look because your advice is very sound and good and that should have been the probelm

Oh, just a quick thought.

Try re-installing Java?

EDIT:

These are the steps I'd take.

1: -As stated above-
2: Reboot
3: Re-install Java
4: Reboot
5: Re-install Firefox
6: Reboot.

I had the same problem only effecting Firefox. I can't for the life of me remember what it was exactly, but I think it was related to a plugin. It was slightly intermittent. If it happens again, try disabling them all. Also check everything is at the latest version.
