Hello all,

I decided to install Slackware Linux this afternoon, but the installation seems to have gone badly wrong. I was hoping to dual-boot it with my current Windows XP Home software installation.

When I boot up, I get the option of Linux or Windows, but neither work. I believe this is due to a corrupt MBR stopping the operating systems from booting.

I would usually use the Recovery Console on my XP disc, however I don't have access to this at the moment. I have tried with a colleague's XP Professional disc, however I could not access the Recovery Console due to the difference in discs.

Any ideas, please?

Thanks,

Peter.

Are the options pointing to the correct partitions of the drive? You could always reinstall GRUB and ensure it's pointing at the right partitions.
