Just installed it - whole process took 32 minutes

Holy bejesus it's quick and everything just, well works.

It's awesome and best of all it's not brown.

Please excuse my ignorance (and lack of going to find out myself, my internet is very slow, but seems to like these forums!), but what is the difference between Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Edubuntu? I know Ubuntu uses Gnome, whereas Kubuntu uses KDE, and I presume Edubuntu has lots of educational software?

I downloaded Ubuntu 9.10 today, not had a chance to install it just yet...

That's correct.

Ubuntu - Gnome
Kubuntu - KDE
Xubuntu - Xfce

Yes this release seems very nimble - and I'm using 'heavy' KDE! Best of all it's not brown, it's blue :).
