When I click on the recycle bin icon the computer freezes. the recycle bin icon shows that there are files in there.
the only way to get the pc back is to force a shutdown with the on off switch.

Does anyone know of other ways to flush the recycle bin or to find out what is wrong with it?

regards

Alan

could try 'disk cleanup' and make sure recycle bin is ticked in results.

CCleaner as a workaround to empty the bin maybe (it also clears out old temp files, invalid software entries etc)?

Though I would Google the problem if you haven't already in case it indicates something else being wrong too :?

Good show :D

I'm guessing it was some sort of corrupt file that was being read when you tried to open the bin, but somebody here would have a better idea if that's right or not probably ;)
