My router has 2 ports for networking, with 1 plugged into my sisters PC. Recently I tried to plug another one into there, and to my dismay it didnt work....
The router is one of the original Livebox routers supplied by Orange

Any ideas to the cause or reason?

(Know the info I have given isnt very helpful, but I dont know much more)

Regards
Alistair

Have you tried the device in both ports, with a known cable?

Have you tried the PC which currently works in the other port?

Have you tried rebooting the router?
