Ok, hi all. I'm new around here and do not have too much experience so be kind ;)

I have bought a new, high specced system and I am looking for a monitor to go with.

My PC spec is as follows:

i7 920 CPU - clocked to around 4Ghz - it hasn't arrived yet ;D
GTX 295 - clocked, not sure by how much yet - read above
Asus P6T
6GB of DDR3 RAM @ 1900mhz

So..I know it isn't the highest spec system you can get but it is an absolute beast compared to a 5 year old P4 system...

I am looking for something that will run games at a good frame rate with good colours & contrast. I don't want any ghosting or whatever.

I do not want to pay over £300.

I would like atleast 1x HDMI input as I will be using my PS3 too, although I can swap leads - it isn't as important as the picture quality.

TV tuners, speakers, etc are a bonus - they are not needed.

With all that said, I am looking at these two -

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... =MO-104-SA
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/141056
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/135253

If anyone has any experience with the above or the above brands, your comments would be appreciated.

Also, a good retailer would be appreciated - I have no experience with any so comments would be appreciated.

Another thing, what input does a PS3 use (not HDMI) incase I chose one without 2xHDMI's and couldnt be bothered to swap it.

Thanks in advance, Sam.

Edit - I have added another monitor which I came across when browsing, it looks pretty darn good to me but I'm not sure about LG, does anyone have experience?

Sam.

I have a 22" LG monitor..... W2252TQ

I think it's a superb screen but I would, having used a 19" Samsung CRT for the last 6 years.

I've been more than satisfied with my Samsung monitor, so I would personally go for one of theirs. As for retailer, well I was a berk and got mine from pc world. Managed to knock a bit off the price mind, but still they're probably best avoided. Ebuyer haven't given me any trouble, so I suppose I'd say go with them.

PS3 is best used through HDMI, however you can also get HDMI - DVI leads which if I am correct do a decent job. I wouldn't worry too much about ghosting; these days most monitors going at £300 will give you superb performance there, and can emulate 60 hz television refresh rates easily.

I will advise caution in terms of linking the PS3 to your monitor; look into it first, as I'm not sure if it's as simple as plugging it into the monitor and away you go. Of course I only say that because I've never seen it done, and don't know about going about it myself, but surely with the price difference between HD TVs and monitors there must be some reason it hasn't caught on. Suppose if I had to run a list of stuff that could get in the way...

Monitor can decode HD signals/Blu-ray.
Graphics card compatability; in case you have to link via your Nvidia card.
PS3's compatability with said monitor/connections.

As I said, I don't know anything about it, so take the above with a certain amount of salt.

I've got a 22" LG too. It's got a digital TV tuner built in, 2 HDMI ports and support for 1080P full high definition. That means it'll give you a good res for your GTX295 and you can get the best out of your PS3. The model was LG M227WD and it can be found for under £200. I've got no complaints whatsoever (other than the full resolution makes everything look tiny when you use it for a computer monitor).

Depends if it’s an air brick or not, I suppose.

This seemed a good deal, though I'm not as up on my monitors as I used to be:
