More of a rant than anything else, and it doesn't take much to make me hate microsoft.

Just spent all day trying to copy across an old POP account to our new mail server, because we've moved to IMAP and it wouldn't copy everything. Turns out that for IMAP accounts Outlook will only use the old 2gb limit PST file. How ridiculous! Seen the same problem on Microsoft's website and their answer is, "you can't, you have to upgrade to Outlook 2007".

What's a decent alternative to Outlook that can import all the old mail from it and has collaborative calendars and whatnot? I'm also hoping that it will be easy enough for someone who's used to Outlook to use. I'm not upgrading to Office 2007 just because it can't handle emails properly!

I thought unicode pst's sorted that out?

Is it personal or business?

They do, but you can't use them with IMAP accounts apparently, it has to be the old style, it's ridiculous!

Clicky.

Clicky.

It's for business btw. The only user with a PC, so mostly a Mac environment.

Actually, it look as if there's an answer in that second link, but it doesn't half sound complicated.

Edit: Actually the second page confirms it can't be done. The only other email app I've heard of is thunderbird, will this be okay?
