Post subject:  AI Overclocking?

Hi guys :D

I've got an Asus P5N32-E SLI plus mobo with an E6600 CPU in it.

I've been thinking of upgrading but then I thought about overclocking instead.

The mobo has an "AI" overclocking feature where you can select a %age to overclock by and the mobo takes care of it.

ATM it's set to 5% and I'm getting (very stable) speed of 2.55GHz from the 2.4GHz CPU with the stock cooler.

I didn't want to go any higher with the stock cooler.

If I do decide to go higher is it worth using this AI feature or should I look at doing it all manually?

Cheers?

Get your hands dirty & do it manually. It's much more stable (+ you can go further)

Watch your RAM speed and multiplier, and make sure you have some spare. I got some great overclocks until my RAM went west, and now I leave things at stock because the only way I could actually tell the difference was by using benchmark software. It's not really that useful unless you do really CPU-intensive tasks for more than a few seconds at a time. But it's quite exciting all the same :ugeek:

I always found the auto overclocks increased the volts too much. I prefer to rein this in a little by doing it manually.
