Post subject:  ICA Metaframe copy & paste problem

I've got a user who used to be able to copy and paste between his metaframe session and local applications, but it has stopped working.

I tried to replicate the problem, but it works fine for me.

Googling hasn't turned up anything useful, yet.

Server: 2003 R2 with Citrix Presentation Server 2.0.6089.0
Client: Windows XP SP 2 running latest ICA client.

Is he connected to one Citrix server, or are there multiple servers?

I know that at my work if you have two apps running on the same server you can copy and paste, but it doesn't work if the apps are running on different servers.

We have 2 servers running under a load balancer.

The user has Navision open in Citrix and Excel running on his local desktop. He used to be able to copy data out of Navision and into his local copy of Excel (or whatever combination of apps he happened to be running), but the copy and paste between Citrix apps and local apps seems to have gone AWOL, on his machine.

This is where the old one trick pony comes out to play. If I were supporting the guy I'd be tempted to delete his Citrix profile, (making sure he is logged off first) and tell him to log on and try again. I find that this fixes 9 out of 10 Citrix issues.

Hmm, I might give it a try... Means remoting into his PC to delete his remote access profile

I don't know if you guys do things differently but this is what I do...

1. Get the user to log off, (as in back to the Windows Ctrl Alt Del screen - I always tell them I need to check some stuff, and remotely connect, just to make sure they don't just lock the screen, as some of them do)
2. Open Active directory and find the persons TS Profile directory, by clicking on the Terminal Services Profile Tab
3. Go to the directory and delete the contents, (technically I create a folder called Old_Profile then MOVE, (not copy) the rest of the contents to the folder I just created, but that's because I'm old and wise).
4. Get the user to log on and test...

Isn't that some sort of standard practice?
