I thought MS agreed to have a drop down list when insalling Windows 7 to pacify the EU.
Yesterday when I installed Windows it just installed IE without asking me.

Any ideas what's going on there?

I believe the Commission has still yet to accept the proposal. Once it does the proposal will be implemented.

Nope I never got a "choice" box when I installed mine and was also surprised by that.

Thinking about it the laptop I installed Win7 on at work last Friday didn't ask me either :(

When it is finally agreed upon, it will also appear on XP and Vista installs, as well as existing 7 installs. New installs of 7 should then also ask...

How? They're not going to change the DVD for OS's that they're stopping selling. Plus it's impossible to change it on discs already sold. Not to mention that IE is integrated into XP and Vista, which is why there was the lack of an upgrade version to 7 when the EU said it wasn't allowed.

For 7, there will probably be new media released, but for Vista, XP and existing 7 installations, a mandatory patch will be pushed out, which will let users chose... :?
