Just noticed this on Scans clearance list, is it any good? Want it to run the spec in my sig however the GPU will be changed next year for a 5XXX or 3XX and a Blu-ray driver along with an SSD may be added. Hobgob.

yeah they are pretty decent, scan often have that and the 750w model on great today only deals, iv seen the 850w for as low as 64quid once on their today only page.
More than enough power for any future upgrades also!

Not worth the money IMHO, according to Bittech only a 2c drop on load and hotter at idle. LINK. Also not sure how to fit it and would it work with an antec 900? Also is there any maintenance involved? Its simple to dust a heatsink. Hobgob.

So any opinions on this H50 thing and fitting it in my Antec 900?
Hobgob.

Not worth the effort I'd say. You'd need to reverse the direction of airflow in the case. Anything above 3.6GHz on a q6600 would need proper watercooling to deal with the temps.

definetly worth the effort
all i can say is that those who have bought one LOVE IT!
those that say its not worth it "usually" dont have one so ........
as for air flow, i have mine in a zalman gt 1000 case in a push pull fan config using the air from inside the case an exhausting out the rear as normal.
On my e8600@4ghz idle temp was 29 on 1 core and 31 on the other ( which never went below 31 so i think it might be a stuck sensor ) and after 8hours of orthos max temp was 48/49
I challenge any air cooler to match that....
Obviously i dont have my i7 set up yet but im hoping for results just as good....if not i ll be the first to say dont buy one buy xxxxxxx instead

The 900 wouldn't give it enough air (with the big fan in the roof) to be truely effective. There's also a lot more heat with a quad than a 45nm dual core. At 4.8GHz my E8600 on air never went over 60 (although I had the airflow spot on with a very big cooler) although YMMV I'm still a big fan of full watercooling for quads as you've got to dump 200w+ of heat or so at 3.6GHz and a single 120mm fan won't cut it.

Do you really need that much power? I mean especially if you're going down the 5xxx series route, they're uber power effcient now.
I'd recommend any Be Quiet Dark Power Pro, they're soooooo quiet I thought mine wasn't working and the power is nice and stable.
