I am wondering what sort of graphics card is needed to get a 7.9 rating for Win7 RC.

I have a Nvidia GTS250 with 2048mb on board memory and still only get 6.0 rating.

In vista used to be max 5.9 even with a 8800gts in sli.

Only the latest and greatest is going to get the highest rating, namely a Radeon HD4870/4890 or GeForce 285/295.

I'd say even higher than that. Maybe the next generation of cards will be able to deliver the perfect score.

On a side note, why does the experience index thing matter anyway?

Depends if it’s an air brick or not, I suppose.

If a card arrives to get 7.9 bet comp flies off to space before key pressed.

The ratings are not that important except if too low aero is disabled so do affect something in settings. Don't know what or why.

I only have an X1950 Pro AGP card, and I get 5.9.

Because only certain GPUs can run aero (only seriously old GPUs really can't run aero) and they will score less than the required rating.

EW, that's an epic score considering the hardware. I'd have thought the X1950 pro would have scored about 4.5.

9600GT 512, 2gb RAM, 2.4ghz Celeron Dual core and 640gb WD Caviar Black hdd.

Get a 6.2 :D

Am stumped with yours though. A GTS250=9800GTX+=8800GTS 512? Should be faster than my card. :D
