Do you have passwords on both PC's?

That's your problem then. You need accounts on both machines with the same name & password to share properly.

You can always use the set passwords utility to autologin with that password

On the start menu right click My computer and go to properties (my computer may be on the desktop depending on how XP is set up)
Second tab should be computer name, click on that.
Workgroup or domain info will be displayed there, you can change the name of the workgroup by clicking change and doing the necessary.
