Post subject:  Saving YouTube?
Is it possible/allowed to save YouTube videos to your PC?

I'm asking as I want to save a non-copyright instructional video. It's quite long and I don't want to have to stream it every time I want to see it. Also I might need to see it when I'm without internet access.

Dunno about whether its legal, but meh.
Just type kiss after the www. of the youtube link.
i.e. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0fWeR5xc9A --> http://www.kissyoutube.com/watch?v=-0fWeR5xc9A

Will need to convert it afterwards though - sure you know how to do that though XD

There's an add-on for Firefox called DownloadHelper (and DownloadConverter to change it into almost any format). I use those and they work fine. Beware that DownloadConverter puts a logo into the output unless you buy an "upgrade" version, but that doesn't bother me.

EDIT: it works on more than just youtube, but is disabled on sites like BBC.
