Okay so i'm a newcomer to the world of Linux. I've dabbled before, and we're using Fedora on all the school of computing workstations, but never really had it as my main system. I've often professed my hatred of Windows XP, so decided to put netbook remix onto my xp-enabled EEEPC. Everything installed perfectly, however I can see wireless connections but not connect. It's saying it's a WPA/WPA2 connection and i'm typing in the password correctly... but it still won't connect. Anyone have solutions? |

Whoops, you're using NBR... This is a known bug with the EEEPC and UNBR. You'll either have to use the full-fat version of Ubuntu and then change the desktop to NBR, or change distro. altogether. Either that, or tell your BT Home Hub/Router to ONLY use WPA OR WPA2, NOT both. |

I've changed =) I'm now using Kubuntu Netbook Remix and it works a dream. I'm toying with the idea of using full-one Kubuntu though. I've got to say getting used to this is pretty hard. It's fine on the uni computers as I don't have to deal with storage issues (for some reason i've got 100GB network space... weird...) but now i've got to micro-manage my little 3.5GB hard drive! On windows it was fine because I could assign everything to the 16GB SD card or the 7GB SSD but now... Maybe i'll work it out eh? Anyways Kubuntu is lovely. Very slick looking and pretty speedy. I miss my Chrome, but i'm sure that one day Chrome will be on this badboy! The Ubuntu NBR was pretty awful i've got to say, it just looked ugly and was clunky. Oh and Fedora is on the uni computers, there's not much I can do about that! Although I quite like it =) |

Oh wow, thanks for that! I didn't think to actually check online, I guess the Kpackageinstaller thing made me complacent. |
