The text below is from a client. Didn't know it was possible for the admins to do this. Any ideas?

The printer in our offices (the one we share with ******) upstairs is really cheeky and has colour set as default and charges 9p a copy. When we change the default on our computers (control panel-printers & faxes-gestetner-change default for colour to black-apply) it stays the default for a couple of hours/overnight but then switches back to colour. Is there anyway around this? It’s just when you print out a b&w doc but set as colour within printer prefs – it charges you as if it’s colour…

Thanking you all muchly.

If it is a shared printer off a server, then the shared driver on the server needs to have it's default print settings set as black and white. We had to do this to our printers for the same reason. People can print in colour if need be but it will set itself back to B&W after a while or at the next logon.
