I do not think that Flash is that essential. I now have click to flash installed and only use it for video clips.

Given the sheer amount of content that utilises Flash, I can see it being sorely missed. E.g. when the people realise they can't play FarmVille on Facebook on their iPad.

Given the fact that there are already a bazillion threads in this forum talking about whether or not the iPad should be able to do flash can we please keep this thread on the topic of the Norwegian reseller.

I think that the fact they they are halting pre orders means that they have sold out of their entire production planned for Norway. That must be a good sign of demand or poor planning as to how many the Norwegians would order.

Adobe have much to worry about - HTML 5, CSS 3 and the new <canvas> tag will allow a lot of things to be done from HTML that could be achieved with Flash. This week Adobe have had to deny their wanting to stall certain aspects of the HTML 5 standard. The canvas tad will allow the drawing of 2D elements from within an HTML file. If you have the appropriate browser (Safari 4 or a webkit build), this page should show you why Adobe could be rather worried. http://www.gesteves.com/experiments/starwars.html
