Hi all,
I have managed to install Centos 5 onto my laptop successfully. Now I need to be able to install VNC so that I can control the laptop remotely.

I have tried YUM install VNC but this failed, can anyone help out with this install.

thanks

Alan

If you're going to be accessing from another Linux machine, why not just use SSH with X tunneling?

How did the install fail?

Otherwise, I've looked at xrdp recently, I've not tried it, but as far as I can make out, it's both an RDP and a VNC server.

HTH,
Ben

+1 it is what they designed XWindows for... There is no need for third party tools, like VNC to use a remote machine in UNIX/Linux.

If the OP wants to go down the VNC route then http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/VNC-Server is a good place to start.
