I'll be installing 10.5 fresh on a Mac later today.
How can I help?

Well, after you've installed it, do you think you might be able to send me a copy of the Screen Sharing application?

It's just that in the 10.5.5 update Apple changed it and removed a whole load of features. Features I would really like. :P

No - there is an app called Screen Sharing. A kind of iRemoteDesktop if you will.

Is this an add-on? I've now checked this on three different Macs running different versions of 10.5 and none of them have an application or utility called Screen Sharing.

Thankyou. :P

Theres a bit more information in this link if you're interested:

http://www.macworld.com/article/135649/ ... ttons.html

Basically, it was a bit too good!! Apple thought it should be dumbed down so system administrators didn't use it instead of ARD which costs a fortune.

Mark - try this. You need more than one Mac on the network, obviously, and have sharing set up.

1 - Open a Finder window. Down the left hand side you will see the mounted volumes. You will also see any Macs on the network.

2 - Click on one of the Macs. In the Finder window, at the top, you will see two buttons. One labelled Connect... the other labelled Share Screen...

Guess what happens when you click on the Share Screen... button? I think this even works remotely if you have Back to my Mac switched on.

Sorry about the wait Nick.
Someone in their wisdom updated the Mac I built to 10.5.8 but if you can wait until Saturday night I'll be able to definitely get this to you as I'm rebuilding one of my own Macs with 10.5 so I'll get it for you then.
Again, sorry about the wait for this.

No worries, it's good of you to go the effort and I'm in no desperate rush for it.

Did you manage to salvage the app before updating, Mark?

Nick, sorry, yes, I'll try and get it to you tomorrow as it's at work and I'm not.
