Anyone know of any free software that will keep tabs on how much is downloaded? I'm currently on an unlimited tariff but I'm sure I could drop down to a lower level with a download cap and save a bit of money.

Is there anything on your ISP home site to tell you your useage. Many do.

This one

The only thing is doesn't do is monitor wireless useage, but otherwise it seems to do the job and it's not very big.

My router keeps tabs on traffic levels. I use the DD-WRT firmware on it.

The last 4 routers I had have also kept tracks on upload and download volumes...

My old 3com used to support SNMP which gave me lots of lovely stats, but the standard firmware on my new netgear doesn't. It does however have a stats page which gives usage since last connection.

I have also used the free Opensource and rather neat Netmeter for it which I've recommended many times because it's so simple.

These days, I just log onto my ISP who have all sorts of tables and charts.
