What exactly do you want in it?

actually we are in the middle of an office reorg due to the economic downturn. lots of things are going including the sysadmin who maintians out time sheet server as well as the time sheet server.

I would like to implement a simpler system of time sheets by using an excel spreadsheet that we can stick say onto google so that we can access from anywhere when we are out working.

cheers

Are you wanting any more than just layout?

hi,
the basics would be
1 - time in, time out
2 - a task list
3- a number of tasks can be undertaken on any day
4 - overtime hours

1
time in/out including lunch break

2
on our old system we had an expandable task list

3
on any day any number of tasks could take place so I might for example on 18/5/2009 need 3 separate entries for 3 tasks
with hours logged against each task

4
we work over time as we are on call so some means of showing this

thanks

Alad

Hmm. The way my work do things is a timesheet per week. Days go along the top, tasks go down the left hand side, although there is no start / end time.

Depending on your requirements, I cannot help but heel that this should be a database.

Don't forget, you know how things should be done, industry dictates it will do what ever the hell it likes!

On a more constructive note: Can't you take what you already have (by way of time sheet) and just make that into a spreadsheet/document?

sadly the server went on friday and no one thought to tell us.....

Ah well I will try and create one to fit my needs.

maybe an access database is the way to go but I then need to learn access.

thanks for the advice

We use an Intranet based system. The last time I did a spreadsheet system was in the 80s!

We have too many people to do it economically per spreadsheet (currently around 50).

wouldn't access then just Excel, if they are daily then they could summarize into a weekly or weekly into a monthly easily enough in excel.
