I was just over at MacUser reading a thread and the genesis for this thread came to me. What's your next Apple purchase going to be? For me, it's either the wired keyboard without numeric keypad or the next generation iPhone.

Probably Snow Leopard. I can't afford the Mac Pro yet, and it's still debatable whether a new camera or lens comes first.

Mine will either be: A new HDD and RAM for my MBP (not strictly and Apple purchase though) Aperture 2 (not sure if I need it though, although TBH I won't purchase this until I have the new HDD and RAM) The new iPhone. I've spent quite a bit on camera stuff recently though so I may have to ease up on the spending.

I do need a new machine at home, maybe an iMac or a mini. Perhaps a Pro, if I go second hand. We'll see what the pennies say in August. I also have a bit of a shopping list for camera-related things, so that's got to be considered as well.

[quote="timark_uk"]the wired keyboard without numeric keypad/quote]WHY??? That's the reason I didn't get the bluetooth-y wireless keyboard!
Possibly Snow Leopard, or the next gen. iPhone. Or camera stuff. So many beautiful things, I cannot possess them all...

Because I never ever use it. It's just wasted desk space, and as I'll be using it at home, where desk space is at a bit of a premium, then there's your answer. (8+) Mark

Probably Snow Leopard.
I don't "need" a new desktop, and I'm hoping the new job will give me a new laptop..

Snow Leopard for me.
Just bought the bluetooth keyboard. I do wish it had a number pad though.

Unless Snow Leppard works on PPC machines, and that's not looking likely, then my OP selection still stands.

Mark, what will you do if your Mac breaks in some way (failed CPU or system board say), would you buy a new Intel Mac? Or look around for replacement components/new PPC machine?

Ben, it depends. If it's a catastrophic fail of something which renders repair un-economic then I'll claim on household insurance where we have a new-for-old policy, which means I'd likely get a fairly speedy Intel machine, but at least I wouldn't have actually bought it. (8+D

That's what you get for owning a machine with such antiquated technology.
