Just changed from a 280 to an 5870

since then when using fire fox I am getting pixelating.

when running just the windows 7 drivers all is fine - when I load firefox it starting to get bad - normally a refresh would do it now that not fixing the mainly black dots on the screen.

but when using IE8 it only happens around the URL bar.

Also games not problem all run at max and fine.

I suppose someone should ask the obvious question. Have you completely uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled the latest version?

yes 3 times now - due to 3 months of updates

also tried installing with AV turn off

I also did a google search last night and found this is a common problem on bigger screens - so tried a fix that was mented on ATI help - but all the fixes where for different cards to mine - it is better but not 100%

I have a 26" - in realy a 25.5" sceen if that helps anyone

Given the information you've just supplied I might be able to help... you say this only happens on bigger screens, and you have a 26" monitor?

I've got a 22" monitor, which may very well remove the problem... fancy a straight swap?

;) :P  :etc:

black dots is sometimes a result of memory corruption on your graphics card, download something like GPU-Z or Rivatuner and have a look at what speed/temperatures/voltages your GPU RAM is running at. it may well be that powerplay (or whatever ATi call their idle power saving features) is incorrectly decreasing your RAM clock/voltage :?

I still got my 22" screen - samsug - I had to change to the 26" because the 22" could not do blueray did not have the conections - if it wasn't for this I still be using is - might be worth pluging it in a see what happens
