Post subject:  Should I be concerned?

I've just run a Permissions Repair on my new-ish Intel iMac running OS 10.6.2 and got the following:

Quote:
Repairing permissions for “Macintosh HD”
Permissions differ on "usr/share/derby", should be drwxr-xr-x , they are lrwxr-xr-x .
Repaired "usr/share/derby".
Permissions differ on "Library/PreferencePanes", should be drwxr-xr-x , they are drwxrwxr-x .
Repaired "Library/PreferencePanes".
Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAgent" has been modified and will not be repaired.

Permissions repair complete

I'm concerned about the Warning bit at the end, is it anything serious? Thanks in advance if anyone can help!

Did you run Repair Permissions whilst logged in? If so I'd suggest booting from your installer disc and running it from the contained Disk Utility on it.

As Mark said, try doing the repair with the install disks.
You may not currently have permission to change the permisions yourself.

Apples advice is that the best place to run anything in Disk Utility is from the startup volume. That's not possible for certain things like disk repairs however it's still true for permissions repairs (as you will be using the most up to date settings).
Make sure you run the repair from an Admin (not standard) user account, preferable the first account that was set up on the Mac.

In any case the SUID message can be safely ignored.
See this Apple support article.
The entry you have is the ninth one on the list. Scroll right to the bottom of the page for Apples advice.
