Post subject:  At least I don't pay to submit to the app store

Got my app rejected from the Windows Mobile marketplace. Couple of silly reasons I didn't know about

To be a bit blunt... 2 weeks to wait is quite long for an app store submission

To Microsoft's credit. Their reasons and info are decent, as are ways to get solutions to common problems from the forum.

No warnings during the installation process.

Comments: When the user attempts to install the application, the following error
message is received:
“The Program is not compatible with the current operating system and, therefore, may
not run on this device. Do you want to continue installation?”

Counter intuitive but simple fix, WM 6.0/6.1/6.5 is actually OS Version 5.2 (as it's Windows CE 5.2), I had 6.0 set instead of 5.2, simple fix

Application providers should not include the .NET
Compact Framework (.NET CF) redistributable
package with their applications. The Windows
Marketplace installation process will ensure that
either the .NET CF 2.0 or .NET CF 3.5 runtime is
installed on the device as required. Developers
should select the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework
Version option during Windows Marketplace
application submission to indicate that the
application requires either .NET CF 2.0 or 3.5.

Comments: The application needs .NET Compact Framework 3.5 to operate. It is not
listed in the application Marketplace Metadata.

Thankfully the 2nd one is checking the right box when I resubmit :)

Going to run my own app on the hopper (app that randomly selects buttons and inputs text) to test it for stability before I resubmit, apparently 12-24 hours is sufficient

Here's a question for you - if you did have to pay to submit your app, would you have taken longer checking it through before submission?

Of course

Although.... Apparently for paid accounts the first 5 submissions on that account are free.

The main problem is with the installer as all I have is my phone which runs 6.1, I have tested on a 6.5 and 6.1 emulator... but there isnt much to let me test it on a proper device, including checking unsupported screen resolutions etc
