What does everyone here use? I'm looking for something that has a really good interface. I've used AWstats, which is good because it's got a huge amount of detail. It's not great to use though, and is overkill really for what I need. I've also used slimstat, which has much less detail - but does tell me everything I want to know. The interface isn't great though. |

Google analytics or web log expert of log analysis is required ( speeds of pages, file down loads etc ) or if very heavy duty requirements web trends. |

I've got google analytics running on most of my sites. I also use the server level ones that my hosting provides, but I've no idea what it is they use! |

Hmm, I block Google-analytics, when I'm surfing, so I never trust their results ![]() |

Well it's important to remember that there's things like no-script out there (hell, I run it myself so I cannot complain), but it does at least give you a worst case scenario as it were. |

Yeah, that's the reason I've never used Google analytics before. It seems to be incredibly popular on these boards though, so I will give it a try. Edit: Just done a bit of searching and there are some PHP classes out there that enable you to create server side events. I'll give one of them a try I reckon. ![]() |

I've run several packages against the same site for the same periods and they all produce different results. The best advice I can give is find one that provides the information you want and has an interface yu are happy with then stick to it. That way you will be comparing like with like. FFS don't try comparing results from say web trends live ( also requires script to work ) and Google analytics they produce vastly different returns. ........................... Hits........ Page Views.......Visits Web trends live......163,173...... 163,173...........18,185 Log analysis....... 1,197,198.......109,676...........18,540 Amongst its many failing webtrends live thinks hits = page views ![]() |

I use Google Analytics. It depends on the site, but most people aren't savvy enough to block google analytics, and given how useful it is and easy to use, I will accept missing out on the data of the tiny amount of people visiting who've blocked it. |
