Hi I've found a few tutorials online on how you can manually manage the music on your iPhone on multiple iTunes libraries (like you can on the iPod) buy amending the library file to make your iPhone think it's linking with the main synced iTunes. Has anybody done this? Does it affect your library if you alter this information, ie iTunes music purchases? Or does it simply rename the library file? Here's the link to the tutorial: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=2137Any help/advice would be great as this is one thing that frustrates me about the iPhone - not being able to add music both at home and at work! I just want to check it's not going to cause me a nightmare before I dive in.... Thanks! Ben

Seems a lot of hassle to be honest. When I wanted to add music at home and work I used my home library as the main one then used the software ipod access to add music in the office.

oooh - so can software do this then? Which should I use (bearing in mind I'm on 10.4 here)
I add music from both home and work you see, so while it's fine on my iPod, it's annoying I can't on my iPhone....

Here's the link for the mac version. You can do 5 tracks at a time for free or pay for the software and do large chunks. I found the free version good enough for doing the odd album. http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/17877

Thanks - I'll have to download at home though as most software download sites are blocked here!

Thanks, but after trying it out it only lets you copy from the iPhone - I need to ADD music.
Any other ways to do this or is the link I posted originally best?
Thanks!

It used to work both ways. Go to versiontracker.com and search for iPod access software.

I use an app from ecomm software called phoneview which can add & remove media from an iPhone. It's a bit clunky in places but it does work fine.

Phoneview again only seems to let you copy music from the phone, or play it.... is that just because it's a demo?
I've looked on Versiontracker, but any I come across all seem to do the same. They let you copy music from the phone, but not add more into the 'ipod' library....
