Hi all,

I've got a laptop running Windows XP and a tablet running Windows CE 5.
I'm trying to connect them over an ad hoc wireless network, but I can't get it to work.

I have set up the ad hoc network as per these instructions, both the laptop and the tablet are connected to this network, and both assign themselves IP addresses. I cannot ping the laptop from the tablet...

Any ideas about what I may be doing wrong?

First thing I usually check is firewalls. Do both IP's appear in the "friends" lists on the machines.

Thanks for replying Alun, any guess what I do to check the firewalls?

depends what firewalls you having running just make sure that you have both machines in their range of friendly IP's - its caught me out a couple of times.
