So, anyone know how to get the 2820 web interface to accept a new firmware version? I keep getting told the filename is invalid.
Using a PowerMacG5 running OS X 10.5.7 and Firefox to try an apply the update over a wired Ethernet connection.

We've got one of those at work, but we've changed the IP address of it. Assuming you haven't changed it from the default, look underneath the box to find out what it is, then type something like this into a web browser:
http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080/
(obviously, change the x's to the real IP address of the router) The :8080 bit at the end is required on ours for some reason, if we leave it off it doesn't work - no idea why.
Press enter, add the username and password and click OK, you should now be logged into it. Then click "System Maintenance" and under that click "Firmware Upgrade", click "Browse" to find the firmware file you downloaded, then finally click "Upgrade" button. The router will reboot after applying the new firmware.

It'll be for remote access to the router, you're probably forwarding port 80 to a server

Thanks, saspro... yes, you're probably right. I know we have a few static IP addresses, one of which is for our internal email server and another (I think) for a Windows Server 2003 box. Could be one of those.

I should perhaps have been clearer. I have absolutely no problem getting into the router via the web interface and I found the firmware upgrade section. When I select the file (which has the following filename: v2820_v03312_232201_A.all) and click on update/apply whatever I get told that the filename is invalid.

That was the bit I was waiting for. Looks like the correct file to me. Have you tried using the rst file (although it will do a factory reset)? Can you post a screeny?

Someone on the Draytek forum suggested shortening the filename to v2820.all I'll give it a go and if that doesn't work report back. EDIT Well, that didn't work and neither did my attempt at using the router tools. Edit 2 Neither did connection directly to the router (instead of through my gigabit ethernet switch

It works! It works!
I tried again with Safari after having shorted the folder name to Vigor2820 and it worked.
