Mine turned up today. It's a very nice little unit. The thing itself is smaller than my elgato tuner stick and very well made. The aerial that comes with it is also much more sturdy than the one that comes with Elgato's products. However - it comes with a very, very old version of Equinux's 'The Tube' software. I know from experience this version is buggy as hell and frankly just doesn't work very well at all. Not problem I thought, it should work with EyeTV 3, my current PVR software. Nope. That supports quite a few Miglia products - this is not one of them. The software install CD is labelled in Japanese and contains nothing but a compressed .ISO. file. which luckily the Mac OS can mount. Drag it off the CD onto your desktop, right click and select open with diskimagemounter and you can run the installer. It insists on instaling an unregistered demo version of MediaCentral too, which I don't want. Once that's done you get an autoupdate to The Tube after which you will have to register it using the code on the back of the instruction pamphlet. Update: On second thoughts - don't bother installing the software on the CD at all. Go to equinux's web site, sign up for an account and download the latest version of The Tube. Then just register it with the serial number in the booklet. The demo version is essentially the full software, it just times out if you don't register it. So eventually you get a registered copy of the most recent version of The Tube - fair does to them for not charging an upgrade fee I have to say. And you're away. `do a channel search and you're good. Now, wonder if I can get it working under windows XP... UPDATE: No, you can't. Usually these things are just rebadged generic sticks and you can use the initial supplier windows drivers. Looks like Miglia do their own kit and haven't written drivers for windows. Ah well. Jon |

Just arrived and installed no bother. Couldn't find any channels here, so will have to wait 'til I get home to connect to a proper aerial. |

If its anything like the Hauppauge units that use USB or any computer tuner, they don't suffer portable aerials at all. |
