Hi, A friend has a MOV file he made on iMovie on his Mac. It's good quality, and he wants to send it out in WMV format on a USB stick to various business contacts (it's a work thing). He bought QuickTime Pro but of course that doesn't have the WMV capability unless you buy the plugin for $50. He wanst to use WMV since he wants anyone with a PC (and therefore almost certainly WindowsMediaPlayer(uggh)) can play it without downloading anything else. So my question is, does anyone know of a good free conversion tool from MOV to WMV? Many thanks, Diz. |

Can't all PCs play AVI files? I don't know if Quicktime Pro handles AVI but would it be worth looking into that before he starts installing more software on his PC? |

Yeah, or stick it in a H264 .mp4 file. QT Pro will do .avi's as either Cinepak (don't bother) or DV (large file sizes). Or, alternatively, you can use SUPER on the PC to bash the .mov into a .wmv if you must. |

He won't pay $50 when it's work related and could be claimed as a company expense? Why not upload it to Youtube and embed it on a site? |
